The subsidiary of igus GmbH ensures that, at the renowned energy chain manufacturer, the tools—whether new, modified, or serviced—are available on time at the corresponding injection molding machine on the production floor. With several hundred injection molding machines, any delays can significantly disrupt the workflow. The use of supporting software is essential for ensuring that the modeled workflows are successfully implemented in practice.
Upon entering the headquarters of igus GmbH in Cologne, a major city on the Rhine and one of the leading manufacturers of energy chains and plain bearings, visitors are greeted by a microcosm of productivity. To professionally manage this microcosm—with its large number of tooling projects—the company uses MoldManager software from the renowned manufacturer IKOffice GmbH. “From the very beginning, we were able to filter our projects according to each colleague’s area of responsibility. And, of course, by new tools and service,” explains Frank Schädler from the Work Planning/Tool Design department at iform. He helped implement the software from the very beginning and serves as the project manager within the company. “This means that all employees who use the software work strictly according to defined guidelines.”
By implementing our software solution, iform has succeeded in creating transparency and significantly reducing delays in prioritized projects between individual workstations.
